The Friends of the Theatre invited the Royal Society of British Artists on a special tour of the Theatre. They were given time to take it in, and to take pictures. The inspiration that it brought led many of them to produce an amazing diversity of art works. In this video, we hear what excited the artists, and see what they produced.

AP gets quite a mention in the second half. Here's a photo showing Louise Stewart, CEO of AP, speaking at the opening. If you've not been, there's still time before it closes on Sunday 14th July. It's free to FAPT members. It's an interesting art show (better than the Royal Academy, I've heard people say several times) and you can always pop in on your way for tea with her majesty!
Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition 2019: From 4 to 14 July 2019 in Main Gallery, North Galleries and Threadneedle Space. 10am to 5pm (closes 1pm on final day). Admission £4 or free with invitation to FAPT members (in case you're hunting for it, from Nigel Willmott, sent on 24 June).

After decades of civil war, the nation hangs in the balance. Enter Richard, Duke of Gloucester, to change the course of history. Richard was not born to be a king, but he’s set his sights on the crown. So begins his campaign of deceit, manipulation and violence – and he’s killing it. Yet, behind his ambition lies a murderous desire to be loved.
Richard III is a co-production between Headlong, Alexandra Palace and Bristol Old Vic with Royal & Derngate, Northampton and Oxford Playhouse.
Tom Mothersdale (The Glass Menagerie; Cleansed; John) returns to Headlong to play Shakespeare’s iconic villain, in a revelatory new production directed by Headlong Associate Artist John Haidar.
